Funny, when Adam asked via twitter to guess his new tatoo I guessed a peace sign. This is so Adam. I loved the 60s though I was a bit too late to be a real hippie, the music, the liberal ideas, the women’s movement…all good. I’ve gone to the site twice now with all intentions of purchasing a pendent. I don’t think I would wear it but maybe I could give it to a young friend who reminds me of a throw back to the 60s generation. She likes Adam and I think would get a kick out of supporting the cause.

    Krad, youv’e got mail.

For all of you “empty-nesters” enjoy the time when your house is relatively calm and clean. Soon the “birds” will return for short and extended visits bringing back with them even more crap then when they left with. The real question is to where to put all their stuff when they return to the nest which has mysteriously filled up with other crap while they were gone.

Adamized, thank you so much for your post. What timing! I literally just sat down after a busy day of cleaning my newly emptied nest and had just looked around and thought about how nice it will be to wake up in the morning and have it just as clean as I left it. Before I carted my senior and freshman college students off over the past couple of days, I awoke most mornings to the remains of what looked like an awesome party; Whether or not they entertained friends, they managed to leave evidence of chips, cans and wrappers. Despite their daily messes, I was just missing them, but your post cracked me up–and you’re right about their stuff seemingly multiplying when they return! I also have to remember that they’re home A LOT on breaks. In fact, I recall that first year my eldest was away being extremely melancholy when he left, but then thinking, “Already? Weren’t you just home?” every time he came back for weekend and holiday stays. Thanks for making me chuckle and easing the empty nester adjustment a tad!

So I gave the new found 23 yr old Adam fan a cd yesterday. She tells me today how much she loves me, of course, and how much her husband dislikes me! It gives me such pleasure to irritate the **** out of a man! He just better get used to Adam music playing in the house now, ’cause once Adam’s in, he owns your heart! Grin

  4. Kradamour says:

too funny, nekkid! Your sweet and unassuming exterior conceals the heart of a guerilla! Smile

The peace sign…nope, def too old to wear it. I’m not too old for anything that is new, but a peace sign? ugh. So old school. Everyone would think I recycled some old necklace from college in a misguided effort to recapture my youth Rolls Eyes and that is just depressing.

Luval, dunno about the rhinestone…in principle I like the idea, but Adam has said he is over the glitter, so …

I think I’ll send my new metal idea to pennyroyal. Thank you for support, little duchess!

adamized, I’ll go read my mail, thanks!

  5. luval says:

Good morning…adam may be over the glitter (although I don’t think he is) but I’m not! I’ve always liked a rhinestone or two peeking out of an outfit.

Still don’t understand the peace sign symbol for the new pendant. (yeah, I know the explanation that was given). I thought adam was now trying to be more current or contemporary. But all the complaining I do won’t get me anywhere. It is what it is. Let me get out me credit card. Smile

  6. adamized says:

Teri63 thanks, glad my timing was good for a change. I always find there is a period of adjustment right after they leave and certainly when they come back.

luval, that’s the spirit. I too don’t believe BB is over glitter. There is greasepaint in his blood afterall.

nkd young friends are great for the soul. Good going girl.

I’m not sure this was ever posted. NY Times – Gift from the Musical Gods

    http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/21/arts/music/what-is-charisma.html?pagewanted=1&_r=2&ref=arts

The author captures the essence of charismatic artists and their impact. I’m not sure I have read anything else that so closely captures my feelings regarding Adam.

  8. riskylady says:

Adamized, thanks for that article, very interesting. One of the commenters did mention Adam, and the fact that so many people attend multiple of his concerts. They also mentioned this singer, and if you listen to this performance, you see that he shares many qualities with Adam, like the way he sings the first part of the song in a softer style, then goes full voice later into the performance. He’s also a Sony artist. Very talented, nice tone, although I think Adam is a much more thrilling, passionate perfomer, and more handsome. Mario Frangoulis:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lV0i6Tpfxm0
I would love to see Adam doing this kind of performance someday, and even sing with Sarah Brightman, but I doubt it’s one of his goals at this time…..

  9. Kradamour says:

From the article posted by adamized:

To experience a charismatic performance …is to surrender to something raw and elemental, to feel happy but also unsatisfied. …I’ve caught myself, after certain performances…, leaning forward, as if drawn against my will.

    Yes. That is exactly it.

Thanks… adamized and riskylady for the links of

NY Times – Gift from the Musical Gods and Mario Frangoulis:

They take me back to what I’d listened before Adam.

This whole page of Youtube is what was in my iPod before Adam. Thanks for the memories.

Nights in White Satin by Mario Frangoulis and Justin Hayward (The Moody Blues)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfIDo6Bnjz4&feature=related

Please forgive me for being off topic. But Adam is so quiet that we need to entertain ourselves.
If anybody has any fave artists to introduce them to me, I’m happy to listen to them.
My fave genre is from Pavarotti, Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, Alfie Boe, Lara Fabien, Mario Frangoulis … OK you get the drift.

    Thanks!!! Grin

This will be my final post and thread here on this site. Have fun and behave for eywflyer…And enjoy your love of Adam and the future as his fan.

I hope adamland sees all the thanks and appreciation we have for her.

When I first saw her last post, my heart sank.
Then I asked myself what had I done?!? Is she angry? She doesn’t love me anymore?!?

    I know.. I know. Frown

I always feel guilty for the things that I didn’t do or not all things are about me.
For christ sake .. I slow down when I see a police eventho I am not speedy. I guess, it’s from my insecure self from a child of divorced parents. I always think something is wrong with me.

    adamland,
Best of luck and Thank you very much for everything you have done for this site and for us – Adam’s fans. Grin

Well, asif, just so you can hear a BEAUTIFUL voice, here are three songs by the amazing Mexican singer JoseJose who rose to fame after winning a talent contest.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzJ3QjBsqM0&feature=relmfu
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xf6cyDfi8t8&feature=channel
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=skCZCaThiuM&feature=relmfu

He had an amazing career, at one point was involved in drugs almost losing his voice, and Frank Sinatra heard him and paid for his rehab because of his stunning voice and lyrical style (much like Sinatra himself).
I’ll say one thing, the Latins really love big, glorious voices. I think Adam is already known and loved in Latin America, hope he goes there soon.

Il Divo – Notte di Luce (Nights in White Satin)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmXie-40AZ8&feature=related

How do they relate to Adam?

Adam single handedly took me over these 4 gorgeous men.
My favs, a Swiss, Urs (in white vest) has a voice of an angel.
But Adam is the best, off course. Wink

  14. cwm says:

Thank you for posting that article about charisma, adamized. Very interesting. And definitely captures my feelings about Adam as well. These were some of my favorite comments, that really resonated with me especially with regard to Adam:

It is the gift of being able to put oneself aside and to fully immerse oneself into the material for what it is in and of itself, and to let it live without your getting in it’s way with yourself. It is complete surrender and loss of one’s social self and the allowing of the nature of another to surface and live through you – unedited by intellect.

…exceptionally good technique allowed them to do less interpretively yet accomplish more, placing the audience more readily and reliably in the palm of their hand. Singers demonstrate every day that finding and dwelling in one’s unique gift maximizes one’s power to communicate.

You began to tremble even BEFORE they walked out onto the stage. When they performed, in a hall or stadium filled with thousands, you felt it was for you alone. Communication: right to the heart. You know it when you feel it.

For me, the way that Adam completely surrenders himself to the material in the present moment and so becomes one with the music and the emotion that he is conveying creates a magnetic quality that pulls me in and just doesn’t let go. Combine that with his superb technical skill and incredible tone, and it is an exhilarating experience.

  15. riskylady says:

Ha, so true, cwm! We really are quite powerless to resist, I even think the surrender is mutual, and that is the exchange, the infinity symbol that Adam mentions. It’s as if he and the audience become one for that magical time, we feel him and he feels us. It really is exhilarating. The wonderful thing about it is, anyone and everyone can participate.

  16. asifclueless says:

    Thank you riskylady.

I listened to the first song from your link. Beautiful!! More than 8 million views but all comments are not in English so I don’t know what they say.

I’ll go back to listen for more.

    cwm … ITA
I could not have said better. I got pulled in and just want to stay there.

  18. asifclueless says:

It will be fantastic if Adam sings this song.
But I doubt it if he will. It’s too theatrical.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYZWbzEmWY0

  19. riskylady says:

Thanks, asif. All the ones we have been mentioning have wonderful voices (Il Divo, gorgeous x 4!) I’m not sure I will ever understand what Adam has more of that just is so enthralling. Is it the tone of his voice? The passion? But, though I love so many kinds of music and performers, none of them captures my soul like this boy.
The comments on JoseJose’s songs vary a lot – the songs are mostly powerful love songs, and people do a lot of musing about past loves, lost loves, etc. and a few call him “the Master,” as no one has come along who can sing quite like him. He, like I believe Adam is, is a once in a generation kind of performer.

  24. asifclueless says:

    OMG …O-M-G … O MY GOSH…

jlurksacto … Are you trying to kill me?

The photo of Sauli with his hand on BB’s chest is beautiful.
My best photo of them now. Thanks.

  25. cwm says:

Woohoo! Thanks jlurksacto for the wedding pics! They are wonderful!

Yeah, especially the ones with Sauli’s hand on Adam’s chest. Absolutely gorgeous and totally heart melting.

And the dancing pictures are a riot! (But of course, pictures of people dancing at weddings are ALWAYS a riot. Smile )

Whoever leaked wedding pictures, thank you, thank you, thank you!
I knew it was only a matter of time, before we’ll see these pictures. Being a little greedy me now I’m waiting for vid with Adam singing at the wedding. Aren’t we all?
I saved all the pictures , cause sometime they have tendency to disappear from the blogs.
And picture of Adam and Sauli? Warms my heart. It must be so great for Adam to go to these events with his loved one. His plus one… Grin

  32. cwm says:

Remember when Adam was on his international promo tour last year (in Spring 2010) and when he was in Finland he commented a few times on what beautiful eyes the Finns have? OMG, those photos of Sauli with Adam– his eyes have an otherwordly beauty to them. It’s no wonder to me why Adam is so smitten with him.

Those two men have to be the one of the most beautiful couples on the planet. And the love and happiness between them is palpable in that picture.

Oh and of course, congratulations to Brooke! It looks like she and her handsome groom had a lovely, wonderful, fun wedding.

Sigh. I’m such a romantic. I just love love. Razz

  33. luval says:

Have we seen photos of Brooke?

cwm…I remember Adam saying that about the Finnish eyes.

  35. nkd says:

In the beautiful picture of Adam and Sauli, did y’all notice the lack of makeup on Adam, and how gorgeous his skin looks. He looks so young! Just something I notice. Smile

  36. luval says:

Hi nkd…I noticed everything you said too. Wow to be able to have so many looks. Offstage, onstage, red carpet. This look reminds me of when godfather held little Riff for the first time.

btw loved the next chapter! Smile

  37. nkd says:

Hi luval! To have so many looks, really!!! I’m just trying to get one sort of ok look going!
    Yes! Godfather and baby Riff!
I wonder if he realizes that the heavier face makeup actually shows the imperfections more.(As if there were any imperfections!)

Thank you for the compliment. I posted a little more on the recaps.

  38. nkd says:

    chirp chirp

  39. cwm says:

Hey nekkid– I’m here! Still enjoying the wedding pics Razz

  40. nkd says:

    Hi cwm!
The wedding pics are enjoyable! Are there a lot more on the facebook albums? I’m not on facebook, so I can’t view them from the links above.

  41. cwm says:

Oh nekkid there are lots of pics in the facebook album! In fact, there are some very fun dancing pictures.

You can see a sampling of the additional pics at 24/7:

  44. nkd says:

Thank you cwm and asif. I had seen those on the links you provided, but another look didn’t hurt anybody!

ETA You know, I may have to open a facebook account just so I can view Adam pictures when they become available! Rolls Eyes

  45. nkd says:

asif…are you still in our timezones or have you returned to never neverland?

  46. nkd says:

I broke down and bought the peace pendant. I decided on the silver with the leather cord. I think I might wear it.

  47. asifclueless says:

nkd… I’m still here in the Heartland of America.

Your recaps are wonderful. I feel as if I were there with you. Thank you very much.

I think Ron was speechless after reading your recaps. He would want the times spent with your all to stay still and it will never end.

    Right, Ron?
You can do better than just a sigh and a dot. Grin

  48. asifclueless says:

Now … when I rethink about Ron.

Are you alright, Gorgeous? Are you trying to tell us something?

I remember you said you had been sick.

Please let us know if you’re OK.

  49. Calgary says:

jlurks Thanks for the wedding photo links! Adam is so doggone gorgeous with (almost) no makeup on! I like him best that way!

adamland Hope you are still reading – thanks for helping to make this the best AL blog!

asif back to your post before we all started fainting from delight at the wedding pix – other great artists – I don’t mean to sound like a broken record but…I find Burton Cummings’ voice and music to have a strong connection to Adam. Dream of a Child – album from 1980 is fabulous. “I will play a Rhapsody” one of the best ballads. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoPAZeM7Gos&feature=related
    He was a rocker too.
