Adam returns to the concert stage this evening at Veterans Memorial Coliseum as part of the Arizona State Fair in Phoenix. This large venue seats over 14,000 people and is not sold out for tonight’s show. This is Adam’s first revenue concert in the United States since the All-Star Summer Concert in Des Moines, IA on July 28 (he did also perform a benefit for gay marriage at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC on September 25).
The show is scheduled to begin tonight at 7 PM MST. Note that Arizona does NOT observe Daylight Savings Time, so the time conversions are one hour offset from what we are used to. See the World Clock link below for the start time in your area. It is unknown at this point whether or not there will be an opening act.

I would guess that there were 5000 – 7000 people there tonight. Security folks told us that the arena was configured for 10,000. Although it wasn’t full, it was extremely high energy. The crowd was screaming and insane for the whole show. LOTS of love for Adam in that arena! Good mixed crowd too – EVERY age represented. Lots of trespassing-themed outfits and lots of more casual fans too. Adam asked how many were from Phoenix vs. far away and I’d say it was about 60% local and 40% travelers.

I loved that interview with AZ news, but I think that Adam was still jetlagged from Australia. He was so free and still a bit loopy. Missed his plane…his hands are explosive…Loved it! He isn’t usually like that in the US. The reporters should really get their facts straight, though. They made it seem like Trespassing (not the EP) is just coming out now, and what was the bit with “Queen covers”? But they did love him, so they definitely deserve a copy of the Kiev DVD.

This bad fan went to bed early last night and missed dinner. Have to say, I always want the shows to start on time when sitting at home but, if I am at the concert, the delay isn’t a biggie becuase we get to revel in the anticipation for a little bit longer.
Glad to hear that Adam can generate 5-7,000 attendees. He’s still pulling people in and the State Fairs do seem to bring in casual fans who end up becoming big fans.
Guess all the ALL-ers who attended are sleeping right now. Can’t wait to hear all the stories!

Last night’s Outlaws of Love was beautiful, even though the video is a “far-away” shot. Pop That Lock is becoming a favourite for me on my iPod but it seemed a bit muted live.

Thank-you eywfler for the thread and for keeping open a place where we can all meet and keep-up friendships that started online and at concerts. Adam recently mentioned in an interview that his fans know each other. He amplified that in his “shaking hands” comments last night.
I think he has a growing sense of being at the epi-centre of a network of very special friendships; something that goes beyond him.
Reading the comments under the OOL posted above by Rob Carter, this was this person’s first time seeing Adam live, and Adam made quite an impression. They said they were planning on seeing him again. New fans!

Has anybody here mentioned the Vajayjay’s new Trespassing outfits? I noticed them in Australia and I like then soooooo much better than those body hugging things that they were wearing before. They are just more flattering and appropriate for the show. IMO.

On NCOE, when Ashley was shaking her tail feathers at Adam, the drummer was just cracking up. He just kept grinning. Guess it was a surprise move maybe. What’s the drummer’s name? I haven’t learned that yet.

CWM, I just tweeted you, but I wanted to say here that I am so unbelievably thrilled for you. Your encounter with Adam was absolutely perfect and I can’t think of a better person to represent our “faction” of the fandom. And I am so damn proud of you for holding it together. You must still be shaking from the whole thing.
Just arrived home from the Phoenix concert. I can’t believe the energy Adam and the band had. No jet lag visible. The crowed was amazing. A real mix of young adults, lots of guys, and of course we 29+ers. I didn’t see any young children so it wasn’t uncomfortabe when Mr. Beautiful became Mr. Nasty (which he did with gusto). This was my first “road trip” to see BB and it was so much fun meeting and hanging out with some of the peeps from this blog. They were all delightful and after I finally matched real names with post names it was like one big, happy family.
