The calm after the end of QAL in February didn’t last long – thank the universe – and the roll-out to TOH appears nicely underway. We had the Sunrise/AU interview on 3/18, followed by the MiniMTV one on 3/20, the Hunger Mag major Q&A (with spectacular pics by Rankin) on 3/24, Attitude Mag’s great article (sold-out, of course), ending up with the iHeart Red Carpet appearance. But the big news, of course, was the Ghost Town snippet and the interest it engendered. April looks to be even more interesting, with the single release on the 21st – good times ahead.

Adam Lambert will release his new single “Ghost Town”, which was co-produced by Max Martin, this Tuesday, April 21st at 12 midnight ET. [just after 11:59 PM Monday]

    So, I’ve been lurking for about 2 weeks, and suffering from new computer woes, which are in no way resolved. I’ve been a bit under the weather as well, but am nearly back up to full speed today.

    I’ve been in contact with nkd, luval and glambot via text and email.

    rs sent me lovely emails.

    I don’t even know where to start. I’ve been lurking, so I am completely up to date, saw Ellen today at 4 PM my time.

    Please let me send well wishes to anybody I missed during my absence, and bid a hearty welcome back to Krads and cwm.

    What can I even say about Ghost Town??

    Well.

    I will say this:

    My computer crashed and literally burned the day of the song being released and/or lyric video ( I honestly cannot remember anymore the sequence of stuff ). So hubby and I made a mad dash to our nearest Best Buy, and the Geeks were so helpful, we bought a new computer, had the hard drive data transferred, which took 3, yes, 3 fracking days, but that’s another story.

    So, while hubby was working his tech geek magic on the actual Geeks, I was having a gay ball with my new best friend at Best Buy, Bruce. He was the phone guy that night, and since I had been having some problems with my phone ( my fault, LOL, I am a true tech dunce ) I engaged Mr Bruce in some friendly convo. whilst he was helping me.

    This turned into a major Adam experience. Long story short, turns out Brucie here does the tech and lighting and staging at one of our local gay clubs for their drag revue. It’s called La Cage. ( Original I know, LOL ). He and his bestie, a lighting guy from LA who relocated here recently, was the lighting director for a little show called AMERICAN IDOL for seasons 1-10. That means he knows Adam. 3 degrees of separation, as I count ’em. He now does lighting for Emmys and Oscars. So these two fellas just did a Glam Rock Ball at our Calatrava Art Museum. Complete with full costumes.

    So, once he shared this with me, I just had to go there. He wanted to know what I use my phone, computer and tablet for. I told him, for the usual things, but also for a lot of music. I told him that lately I have been watching full Queen + Adam Lambert concerts. His eyes got huge, his jaw dropped. ” I love Queen, I did a take on BoRhap for my senior project in High School.!!!”

    So, I told him about the New Year’s show, the tech articles on line about lighting and staging , yada yada, he was eating this up.

    Then, since this was right up his alley, I went in hard. He pulled up Killer Queen on his phone and nearly squeed melted and transformed into a glittery pile of goo right there in front of me. As inappropriate as this may sound, he got gayer and gayer as our convo progressed. We were laughing so hard, thank goodness the store was nearly closed, because there weren’t any other customers around, I was such a Bruce-Hog. He went cray, totally cray for the outfit, the couch and the sexy moves. The shoes put him over the edge.

    So, we laughed and shared video links, I sent him to many of Adam’s over the top moments, and NYE. Told him about Ellen. And signed up to take his free phone and tablet classes. Can’t wait to see him again.

    So, I got out to my car, and nkd and luval were hot onto filling me in about Ghost Town. I was madly phoning and texting both of them until I got home. ( No. I don’t text and drive. Calm down.)

    My verdict after my first listen on my phone without proper amp or speakers or earphones:

    I absolutely hated it. And thought all the hype before it was released was untrue and over-stated. And a bad luck omen.

    I actually enjoyed the interview, not sure why it distressed people. It was a more freewheeling Adam than we have seen for a while – I thought it was light and fun, not that deep, and well suited to that magazine’s audience.

    I have since changed my mind, mainly because I bought some earbuds at Best Buy the next day and gave it a listen or 100. It is stuck in my head like the best or worse earworm.

    The video is incredible. The dancers, Sutan, Terrance, the visuals, Adam against that wall, ( hey luval, something in common with your hawt avi ).

    I’m not too fond of the naked fishnets though. Not a fan of vajayjay in my music. Well, almost vajayjay.

    But, Adam has never looked better. The video is stunning. I just hope he gets recognition for it.

    I don’t know if we’ve had any local airplay. I could check our local IHeart station, 97.3. And report back.

    My workberts haven’t watched it yet. Dangit. They are disappointing me lately.

    So, what else is new?? We could play a game of “Ask Mils.” I feel like I’ve been away for a month.

    What did you think of the Ellen performance? As ulti mentioned MJ has a thread up. She really likes him now I think! Almost all comments are good.

    And of course peeps have wondered what you think of the white pants.

    Loved the performance! I thought he looked scrumptious! Love him in white!

    I do think the song will work live but it needs a bigger production. Acoustic would be beautiful but then you lose an essential part of the song. I have faith that he’ll work it out!

    But…you hate GT? What is it that lost you? I have it in my head constantly, I love it more than anything I have heard for ages! Love the beat, love the lyrics, love Adam’s voice and the whistle…
    OTOH, the Queen stuff is tedious to me, and you love that.
    I hope that your reaction is not going to be indicative of the audience that likes Queen.

    ETA slow postings meant my post was loading while you were writing your update. Whew! I was so sad that you hated it!

    Ahem, I do believe that my second posts clarified my feelings on GT. I love it, and it is stuck in my head.

    Queen may not be for everyone, but their ballads are so lovely and pure that I hope you do like them Kradamour. Save Me, WWTLF, I was born to love you, for example.

    Sounds like Z100 in NY just played GT. They are the premier IHeart station, now let’s see what happens….

    Yes, nkd</strong that's it…bigger production. Like the recorded song, start out soft acoustic but then BOOM, BAM!!!! LOUD, SEXY & CRAZY!! Of course it's the first time live but I can see it on stage in a tour.

    I saw his mom in the audience when Ellen started her dance at the beginning of the show. Think she was in the first row.

    Oh and about his dancing. It wasn't dancing…just slinky, sexy moves to the beat! I loved it.

    kradamour I liked the article too, I just didn’t like how all the rags picked up the one line about guys he has been with in the business who are not out. Sensationalizing what he said and twisting his words. But it seems to be over now.

    I have to admit that I am kind of obsessed with the girl dancer in the video with the bare bottom in fishnets. Kylie Shae Lewallen is her name. She’s an incredible dancer, and her tush is so pretty! Wink)

    Y’know, I have always been mildly embarrassed that I can whistle. My grandmother said that crowing chickens and whistling women both needed to have their necks wrung.
    But it is finally coming in handy! I can whistle Ghost Town!

    Mils, I just can’t get into Queen, and I have really tried. I went to one QAL concert. Just not my cuppa.(TBH, I like the ballads the least, especially WWTLF, which to me seemed to go on forever…)
    But Killer Queen is amusing and Adam did it proud!

    Is there a list of the dancers in the video?

    I thought it was interesting and added to the mood that the musicians on Ellen kept their heads down and were dark and mysterious. Wonder if it was intentional on any level to keep the crays at bay.

    Y’know, I have always been mildly embarrassed that I can whistle.

    I can whistle too but not as well as my mom. As kids, she would whistle us home for dinner. We’d be out playing miles away sometimes and would hear her whistle and then knew it was dinner time. It seemed that only our ears were tuned to her frequency. Our friends always wondered how we knew it was dinner time!

    Remember the interview where Adam mentioned that he would like a dog but not a purse dog. I think ulti thought he said chow chow but he said chihuahua. Of course full size chows are too big for most purses but how about puppy chow chows?! My partner and I are the proud parents of 2 bouncing furbies. We just got them yesterday and our vet checked them out today and just had to put them on her Facebook page. And she also just had a chihuahua as a patient the day before.
