The calm after the end of QAL in February didn’t last long – thank the universe – and the roll-out to TOH appears nicely underway. We had the Sunrise/AU interview on 3/18, followed by the MiniMTV one on 3/20, the Hunger Mag major Q&A (with spectacular pics by Rankin) on 3/24, Attitude Mag’s great article (sold-out, of course), ending up with the iHeart Red Carpet appearance. But the big news, of course, was the Ghost Town snippet and the interest it engendered. April looks to be even more interesting, with the single release on the 21st – good times ahead.

    Song is awesome, video is awesome, it is just what Adam needs this time around, nothing to deep, Adam up front singing and dancing, dark and sexy, and sing along, what more can you ask for. The radio stations are playing it, when the album drops, there will be more great songs, and Grammy possibility songs, hey, look what some of the fluff that wins, Its all about that Bass, really? Its getting Adams name out in the public, and men and women are both loving the song and thats just what Adam needs! Its a sexy, man and woman song!!!

    Being away, his ginger-y hair caught me off guard – I love that he is comfortable with that now.
    I have spent two hours on Adam tonight…with a PILE of stuff on my desk that needs my immediate attention…yup, no fighting it…falling into the Ghost Town…

    I guess … Brian hinted about Elvis and a storm before but he couldn’t say much.
    I noticed that the video was uploaded on April 24th.
    Adam really kept them private until today.
    Those first 301+ views must be viewed from his people, friends and family.

    I’ll go and watch GT MV for another 99 times.
    Eventhough … I’m watching my weight now I’m on my second glass of wine.
    Gotta celebrate this wonderful occasion (by myself here.)

    Artistic, sexy as hell, compelling, cool, full of surprises! Gonna have to watch it over and over in order to catch everything.

    And 38 Top 40 adds??!! Holy crap what a day!! I’m exhausted from the emotion of it all!

    Honestly, there have been multiple moments today where I have been so happy for Adam (and for us) that I’ve had tears in my eyes.

    My apologies for the problems folks are experiencing with slowness on the site, particularly with the posting of comments. I’m troubleshooting but there doesn’t appear to be an obvious solution, so it will probably take some time and experimentation to improve site speed. You may have noticed that the box of smilies has disappeared from below the comment editor, that has been disabled as it appears to be one of the plugins causing slowdowns. I will probably have to experiment with disabling various other plugins/functionality at least temporarily.

    38 Top 40 adds and 15 HAC adds for GT is quite impressive. For context, I went back and found the stats for BTIKM. It had a radio impact date of 1/24/2012 (or possibly 1/31/2012 for Top 40, it seems to have been moved up a week at the last minute). BTIKM had a total of 12 Top 40 adds through the impact week (5 pre-impact week, 7 during the impact week). It then went on to have only 15 more Top 40 adds during the rest of its lifecycle, so GT has already surpassed that in the first week. Peak pop chart position of BTIKM was #50, so it seems likely that GT will do significantly better than that. For reference, IIHY peaked at #16 on the pop chart, and WWFM peaked at #12 on that chart.

    For HAC, BTIKM had a total of 16 adds through impact week (13 pre-impact week, 3 during the impact week), and went on to have an additional 46 HAC adds during the rest of its lifecycle. So GT is basically on pace with BTIKM with the number of adds, although hopefully it will get more frequent spins on those stations. BTIKM peaked at #18 on the AC chart, while IIHY peaked at #14 and WWFM peaked at #10.

    The Hits Daily Double website (which we watched anxiously for album sales numbers during the first weeks of Trespassing) also posts the radio airplay charts down through #50 without requiring a password. The Nicki Minaj song that got 43 Top 40 adds this week (the only song which got more adds than GT) jumped from #135 to #46 (12 spins last week to 220 spins this week). The #50 song on that chart had 191 spins, so we should see GT get into the Top 50 next week.

    GT has appeared at #49 on the HAC chart, going from zero spins last week to 59 spins this week. It should move up that chart as well, although we’ll have to see how quickly it does so.
