Adam-LunchLA
Having wrapped up the overseas “We Are Glamily” tour, Adam and Glamily are back in LA for some well-deserved rest. Later this month, Adam will be in Miami Beach to headline their Gay Pride event. It seems to be the first of his “a-concert-a-month” series while he works on new music. Above we see Adam enjoying his downtime lunching with Sutan. Photo from Just Jared.

All those great photos reminded me that we will need a photo for the upcoming May thread.

    I like this one.

Very handsome man in that picture.

  7. ultimathule says:

That’s one helluva camera, Ron – I want one that does that – lol.

Buble’s album is #1 on iTunes – no songs, though.

Wow Ron, you have found the fountain of youth!

    I know.

    I have!

It’s called Labatt Maximum Ice Beer and I drink from it every day.

    Laugh

    Well, not every day!

    Just on “festive occasions”. Wink

    Ron … Is that YOU?

    Shock

    You have to ask?!?!!

    Laugh

No kidding, I was 29 years old in that photo.

It was taken during my brief, and very unsuccessful, modeling “career” and also it was to mark the occasion of my upcoming 30th birthday.

When I was a little boy … oh God, there he goes again!

    Laugh

… anyway, before I interrupted myself, there was a TV show back then called “Dr. Kildare” that starred Richard Chamberlain. I was too young to appreciate it but family and neighbors thought I resembled Richard Chamberlain. Looking back, that was nice.

When I was in my late teens and had grown a mustache, the movie “Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid” came out. I was then compared to Robert Redford.

I was then old enough to appreciate that VERY much! I liked that. That was more than nice!

Shortly after that, when I was making the rounds of casting agents in New York City, I kept hearing “the Jon Voight type”.

Uh, no. That wasn’t good. Didn’t like that at all. No

But, as ulti mentioned, far and away and many MANY times it’s been David Bowie.

Sorry luval, but that’s worse than Jon Voight. Grin

I don’t begin, even begin, to see a slight resemblance to Bowie.

For one thing, I have lips and he doesn’t. Laugh

All that aside, AL please consider my photo for May’s thread.

    ROTFL

And with that I’m going to take my silly self to bed.

    Good night. Heart

Ron – I see your resemblance to each of the stars you identify. You hottie!

  16. luval says:

China related pic for May would be great like JOJOSIE and others have said. The second one cwm posted is lovely. Except I know many of us did not like the triangle shirt!

  17. luval says:

    Good morning, Ron!

That pic you posted was not the Bowie look-a-like that I remember pointing out to you. Wish I could remember which one it was.

That Buble interview was interesting. If he is not an insider, who is? Geez. What does it take? Obviously not a stellar voice.

  18. cwm says:

Woooot! Wheels are turning! With Nile!

RTGMusicMan: @nilerodgers So great to see you man. Thanks for letting me hang. You and @Avicii and @adamlambert were killin’ it.

@Avicii had previously tweeted about going into the studio with Nile. Big Smile

I finally got around to seeing the “Opening Night” episode of Smash. Wow! It was as good as everyone has been saying it is. I love Megan Hilty and the whole time that she was belting out those songs I just kept thinking about how she and Adam are such good friends and how I would love for them to sing a duet together. When she did the duet with Kat I realized how much I prefer her voice. It has so much more depth and “personality” if you know what I mean.

  20. ultimathule says:

Actually, Ron, you’re much handsomer than Bowie – it’s more the overall first impression.

  21. glambotgram says:

I love this picture, I know some of you don’t care for the outfit, but I just love his all out laughing in this one.

I finally saw the Episode of Smash with the duet also. I really liked it, I guess I am the only one who likes Kat McPhee. I really liked her on Idol and think she should have won her season. She is soo much better than Hicks. IMO

I love the outfit, glambotgram…and the photo. But isn’t there another chestbert pic that is closer with the other peeps less noticeable?

  24. ultimathule says:

I love that pic, glambotgram – it’s just so wonderfully natural – the expressions on their faces are a hoot. And, yes, a small glimpse of more skin than usual. (Loved the outfit, too.)

  25. ultimathule says:

Sumthin’s cookin’ in the kitchen with Nile?

  26. Kradamour says:

Oooooh, sistasif, yes, could def look at those every time I open the page.

Ron, I think that references to angst are actually intended as being humorous and self-deprecating these days. I know that is how I have come to use the term.
But maybe I should angst over when to use it…

  27. JOJOSIE says:

Jason Collins an NBA star just came out as being gay. It’s big news over on twitter. This may be the start of something in the sports world and will hopefully promote more LGBTQ tolerance.

What does “very intimate” mean, folks? Any guesses here?

  38. luval says:

    What does “very intimate” mean,

Maybe he serenades you in your bedroom. ROTFL

  40. Calgary says:

Adams private intimate concert went for $6100.00

And the pisser is, the money didn’t go to AT&T Live Proud or TTP, it went to some other charity:

100% of the final sale price will support Liberty Hill Foundation-
    About this nonprofit:
Liberty Hill is first to identify community leaders at the frontlines of change. We invest in changemakers and equip them with the skills and relationships they need to build power and advance social justice. After more than 30 years, Liberty Hill is uniquely positioned to bring together forces for change and forge a common agenda for equality and opportunity in Los Angeles.

I guess it’s good that at least it went to some non-profit.

  41. Calgary says:

Ron I knew that photo was you right away. All I can say is WOW!
Interesting on the Buble thing. I’ve been thinking about him and wondering how he made it big but doesn’t get recognition – I think he’s a hit with the 29-year-olds, not the teenyboppers and early 20s who the music biz seems to cater to.
His newest cd is in Starbucks here.

  42. Calgary says:

Back to the AT&T concert, we need some sleuths to find out more about it! I wrote to Liberty Hill and they refused to tell me anything about it, not even the date. I wish I had $6200 and a life so flexible that I could buy tickets like that!

  43. Kradamour says:

I thought the concert was the one for a group of someone special, can’t remember who, but no tickets were going to be sold for it, and I am thinking it was only a couple of hundred people.
The information was from a video from somewhere.
Sorry I can’t be more precise, but maybe that will trigger someone’s memory.

I was glad to see that it apparently didn’t go to an SPG; I am thinking that they probably don’t bid on ebay, and this person has a high feedback rating so obviously buys and/or sells quite a bit.

Love that “Returns: not accepted” note…like anyone would return that ticket!
    Wink

  44. ultimathule says:

The person “buys and/or sells quite a bit” – wonder if this is an actual fan or something else. Love to know what’s going on and what this is all about. Details, please.

  45. ultimathule says:

Yes – went into that Liberty Hill site when this info first came out and no date for concert then either.

  46. nkd says:
  47. ultimathule says:

The Liberty Hill Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Sarah Pillsbury, heir to the Minnesota Pillsbury baking fortune, in 1976.[1] Its motto is “Change. Not Charity.”[2] They have funded local Los Angeles organizations dedicated to environmental justice, such as East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice.[3] The name of the foundation derives from a famous incident on May 15, 1923 when writer Upton Sinclair spoke to approximately 3,000 striking longshoremen at Liberty Hill in San Pedro, Los Angeles, California. In a piece of street theater designed to highlight ongoing suppression of freedom of speech by the LAPD, Sinclair began his address by reading the Bill of Rights. Within moments, he was arrested.[1]

I’ve read very vague info on the “intimate concert”.
In early July in a small club in LA.
I think that’s all that has been revealed.
July 3rd was mentioned at some point but not confirmed.
