ELO has such great music, turquoisewaters – Evil Woman, Do Ya, Strange Magic, Can’t Get You Out of My Head (and once you hear these tracks, you really can’t get them out of your head).
That is one striking photo from China, asif – those gorgeous legs – one of the things I liked about the AT&T vid – sitting on that stool with his legs stretching out like forever – best thighs in the biz.
I’m so fickle, asif, Sauli’s off my radar already.

This is so old news, but Adam in the AT&T announcement was incredible. He really shined, inside and outside.
I couldn’t agree more mils. After his voice, those were the qualities that really hooked me. I don’t think I could become interested in artificial, empty-minded artists. I would rather see Adam being his unique self, than trying to fit into some too common & simple pattern. But I do agree that some song choices might have been better singles… Runnin’ is great, PTL instead of NCOE. And every time I hear Map, I think it would be a great single. It is very catchy. But I really don’t know if we’ll ever know the exact reason(s) why he’s not played on the radio. What I know is that many countries play what US plays

24/7 also picked up that TMZ story about Billie Joe Armstrong, BUT that story is from June 17, 2010….hence, the question “will GMA cancel any Green Day appearances?” Don’t know why that is news now. And, he’s been doing that for ages, as has Robbie Williams, even Katy Perry (in Australia). Whatever.
People are speculating that Sauli was photoshopped into that pic with Adam and that girl, but looking at what Sauli is wearing in the pic with Danielle, and his hand around the girls waist on the right, don’t think so. But, Adam’s expression in that pic is heartbreaking (unless HE’s the one that was photoshopped in.) I think that was Danielle’s birthday party, and Sauli always seemed to be close to her. Glad Neil was there.
Krad, I really enjoyed your post about being different. I think Adam is just MORE: His voice is MORE, his control of that instrument is MORE, he is MORE articulate, MORE beautiful, MORE charismatic. That kind of excellence makes some people feel threatened, arouses jealousy and suspicion and even hatred. He is like Andrea Bocelli+Freddie Mercury+Liza Minelli+Michael Jackson+Elvis wrapped into one. But Adam also is probably more LOVED – really loved – than almost any entertainer.
I think another person who arouses similar feelings in many people would be President Clinton. TOO intelligent, TOO charismatic, and yes, even sexy and talented (plays the saxophone lol). Many love him, many many hate him.
I don’t know what album 3 will be like, and maybe the US, lover of all things mediocre, will never take to him in superstar numbers, even though his recognition does seem to be growing here – his voice, especially (there are still numbers of us more discerning people).
But outside the US I think he will do just fine – in fact, already is. Gigs mean money in his pocket, too.
I have faith that he will give us something good. Hubby agrees with me that his albums are fun to listen to over and over because of the playlist-type songs that don’t sound the same. Maybe he will give us a real sampler: Funk with Nile, rock with Brian/Roger, some r&b, heartbreaking ballads, whatever. He could go in all kinds of directions that we may not even imagine.

I like to think that Adam and Neil are spending time together (as long as Neil doesn’t try to talk Middle Eastern Politics with Adam), but I saw no evidence of it in that photo. No one in that photo or any of the other ones I saw of Adam at Bootsy Bellows looked like Neil to me.

I love to listen to the songs from Trespassing (I can do it while gardening 
), but am also excited for anything new. I really hope Adam is fine. I can’t help thinking is this what he really wanted.. To be single again. It feels kind of empty, so little going on right now. It’s about a year ago I found him, and it’s been constant roller coaster since that. This is the first “creation break” that I go through, I came in when Trespassing was almost out and a lot of promos, shows and concerts on line.

I looked at the photo with the guys coming out of Bootsie Bellows on my iphone (I was out all afternoon). Now that I’m home I looked at it again on my desktop and although it looks like Neil, now I’m thinking it’s not him. Sure is a resemblance, though. The hair and the mustache doesn’t look like Neil’s.
I just saw a very interesting segment on a late night news program here about how American film companies are trying to court the huge Chinese audience. It seems that they are adding all sorts of extra scenes with special effects just for the Chinese audience as well as obeying the demands of the Chinese authorities by cutting other scenes that are deemed too violent or otherwise inappropriate.
And here we have out and proud Adam Lambert being himself, who the Americans almost ignore, already having a huge foothold in China. If he has been asked to make any changes to his shows, they have only been very minor.
Now, could you imagine what a huge ginormous hit an Adam Lambert movie would be in China? The
American PTB are idiotsJust sayin’risky, i smiled when I read your post…wanted to avoid politics, but was thinking of Clinton when I posted. America is all about democracy, the elevation of the mediocre. We do seem to fear or at least mistrust those who are too bright/accomplished/fillintheblank. Witness all the magazine articles with pics of what celebs look like with their makeup off…we can’t even stand anyone being beautiful. America does not celebrate the above-average.
LOL Krad. You probably had very similar feelings to Adam, i.e. not being part of the crowd – with them, but not of them. I often felt that, and I would venture to guess that posters here – let me brag a little for us – have felt that too. Definitely above the average; just the quality of the writing, the discourse, shows that.

ITA. mils. It was his baby, and he wouldn’t let it go until he was so certain that it was ready that he lost a huge amount of momentum, and missed Christmas/holiday selling, and then came out with a deep but sleepy single (BTIKM) and a brilliant but too deep video that would frankly only really make sense to his already-fans.
Yup, Fever – Sleepwalker – Shady – Pop that Lock – those were the singles. NCOE was another WWFM but Adam didn’t need another of the same – and BTIKM was another one that led everyone to believe that this is what Adam is: angsty ballads that never really catch you with a hook. Yawn.
I’ll listen to Adam sing anything at all live – can never get enough! – but the singles from his albums are totally meh for me. Such poor choices.

Good evening. I’ve been taking a break from Adam stuff for the past several weeks due to a combination of factors. Finally have some time now to check in on things. Note that I’ve added a link to the AT&T Live Proud page in the upper right corner. I know y’all have been discussing it here. Just now watched the video – Adam does look really good in that one. He really needs to be on TV more.
If you know anyone that would be interested in supporting the Live Proud effort, please forward the link to them. I was pleased to receive an email recently from AT&T corporate communications asking our site to support/publicize this effort. We have gotten a couple of emails before from other PR folks about various Adam-related things, it seems that our site has made it onto an “Adam fan site list” somewhere.

Switching gears, is anyone a Michael Buble fan?
I can’t say that I’m a fan because I really don’t know that much about him other than he is Canadian, is a big success, and that every year he has a TV Christmas special. I don’t know if it’s broadcast outside of Canada.
While channel surfing the other night, I happened upon a TV interview with Buble. What a nice guy. Very nice personality. Very well spoken.
During the interview, my ears perked up when he said, “I still feel like an outsider looking in”.
With that, the interviewer reared back, looked astonished, and asked, “How can you say that with all that you’ve experienced?”
Those were exact quotes, now I’m paraphrasing (but not by much).
“Well, I’ve never been on the cover of People magazine. I’ve never been asked to sing on the Grammy’s. Even though I’ve won three Grammy’s, I’ve never been asked to sing on the show. David Foster (Canadian composer, who has worked with Buble, and one of the yearly producers of the Grammy’s) brought my name up last year (to the executive producers) and they told him, “Buble? He’s not even on our radar”.

Al, I don’t have a link but there is one of Adam holding his Chinese award after the show. No mike,or presenters only Adam and his trophy. China has been such a part of his career these last few months I think it would be fitting to use it as Mays thread picture.
