Having wrapped up the overseas “We Are Glamily” tour, Adam and Glamily are back in LA for some well-deserved rest. Later this month, Adam will be in Miami Beach to headline their Gay Pride event. It seems to be the first of his “a-concert-a-month” series while he works on new music. Above we see Adam enjoying his downtime lunching with Sutan. Photo from Just Jared.

    ultimathule, there were premium pit tickets for an enclosed area off to the side of the stage which included dinner & drinks but I remember them being sold out immediately. Stinks because initially they said all GA. By the time I found out about the premium they were gone.

    And I looked for viewership for that 80’s talk show but couldn’t find anything.

    One month ago today I had just seen Adam and Sauli and about to meet up with Risky and ladynorth and my friend for the incredible Helsinki concert. Can’t believe it. Time flies.

    Love Richie Havens, luval – one of those voices that brings back the ’70’s to me so strongly. “The Key,” “Here Comes the Sun,” “Just Like a Woman.” On my iTunes/iPod – going to go play him again now. RIP, RH.

    dcglam and Miss Chaos I am not doing this out of hubris, or any chauvinistic impulse, but I often think Adam is very Canadian in some ways. I read this article on Canada’s Juno (music) awards and I hope that some day this could be Adam at the Grammys, names and locations changed of course:

    …And the winner for the best supporting singer in a Juno-y role goes to Kathryn Dawn Lang. The Alberta-bred singer and constant craver swept hearts and won admiration for her dramatic turn as an honour-accepter at Sunday’s televised Juno gala in Regina.
    “I think the fact that I’m standing here receiving this award says more about Canada than it does about me,” she said, speaking about her induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. “Only in Canada could there be such a freak as k.d. lang receiving this award.”
    The combination of spunk and home-spun elegance from the gifted singer said a lot about lang. She would have dominated a sparkling, swiftly moving Juno ceremony without even singing a note, but she later performed Sing It Loud to a Brandt Centre crowd which heard every one of her words. The tune, which is the title track to lang’s most recent album, is autobiographical and a victory speech on the power of music and self-identity – “sing it loud, so everyone knows who you are.” …The night’s centrepiece was lang, of course. Fellow songbird Anne Murray introduced her perfectly as someone who broke all the rules, someone who made us smile and someone who showed that “a great voice can sing anything it wants.”

    Unless he’s doing a duet type album and will have several collaborators. Doesn’t seem like something he’d do, though. Probably that kerryjane ellis will be a big part.

    Hi Calgary!

    k.d. lang is a wonderful example of someone, like Adam, who refused to compromise herself and remained true to who is she is without a moment of consideration to be anything else.

    Both she and Adam could have gone against their principles and conformed to what I’m sure was pressured advice from their record labels, managers, family, etc. But they refused to go against the grain and I admire them both so much for standing firm and refusing to be anything other than themselves.

    Adam: no nail polish, get a hair cut, don’t wear eyeliner.

    k.d.: put on a dress, wear makeup, try to look pretty.

    I didn’t watch the Juno’s last night Calgary but read that k.d. was going to be honored with a Hall of Fame award and I was so pleased. Extraordinary voice! I have several of her CD’s and a concert DVD.

    I predict that one day Adam will receive awards and be similarly honored too.

    Wait. That’s already happening. Wink

    I would like it to happen though in the good old U-S-of-A!

    And it will. I’m sure.

    I just hope I’m still around to witness it. Laugh

    I need to read more about this. Need time for research(that I don’t have) but I thought it started back over the holidays Brian and Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath teaming up. Saw a mention again the other day. I just can’t imagine Brian, Tony and Psy OR Kerry working. But, who knows. Hearing Brian and Tony together with Adam would be something amazing. Oh well.

    I have to admit though that this knowledge comes from Psy being among the nominees the other night when Adam won the award.

    The show was aired “live” here in Toronto and I’m sure it wasn’t a local broadcast.

    luval left a comment on YouTube for that wonderful video that riskylady posted because I asked her about the very last “voice swell” clip. What song was he singing and from what show? It looked like it was from GNT but I wasn’t sure.

    So she got a reply and we think that it’s from WLL but can anyone remember from which show or the city?

    I never saw that clip before today. I otherwise would have remembered him ending the song the way he did and holding that incredible last note.

    Brian May and Tommy Iommi? Together? Two guitar gods, of course. It makes perfect sense, and to quote a fab poster above, I would pay more than 25 cents to hear that!

    I wonder if when Adam refers to “projects” that he really means more than one project. For instance, collaborating with Queen, duets with other stars, co-writes with others, a clothing line in China, modeling all over, a hula hoop exercise video with Kelly, more Fashion Police, a break-up “How To” manual, a hair book, etc

    Feel free to add ideas.

    I had been watching Brian’s tweets at that moment and the kinds of things he was responding to, and I just had an intuition that he just might respond to a properly worded question about Adam. So glad I asked when I did. And I liked his answer! Really really hoping this collabo happens!
