Adam-LunchLA
Having wrapped up the overseas “We Are Glamily” tour, Adam and Glamily are back in LA for some well-deserved rest. Later this month, Adam will be in Miami Beach to headline their Gay Pride event. It seems to be the first of his “a-concert-a-month” series while he works on new music. Above we see Adam enjoying his downtime lunching with Sutan. Photo from Just Jared.
Enjoy the chat!

Lol round and clunky shoes! Like clown shoes or Popeye. They remind me of something a railroad worker or coal miner would wear. I wonder what the tops look like? Is it a boot? So many questions!

  2. aely says:

glambotgram. I know, but it was too funny not to post. The little skinny pic on your bedroom wall, I mean, in your house. Grin

  3. adamized says:

I think Adam looks incredably handsome in suits. Wish he would wear less cluncky footwear with them though. Does anyone think he may be wearing bigger guages?

I have to admit I felt a pang when I saw the picture of him with the young fan. I miss the security of Sauli.

  4. adamized says:

Luval my thoughts exactly. I had written Mickey Mouse feet then deleted it!

To apal123: Both my children(9 and 7)undergone an Adenotonsilectomy. My boy(7) had his surgery when he was just 4 years old. It’s terrifying for parents to experience something like that though in medical world the procedure is only a minor one but still. My girl(9) had her adenoids and tonsils removed just recently, 3 weeks ago to be exact and now she can enjoy ice cream as much as she wantsSmile
Praying for your child’s fast recovery Smile Good bless!

That Evian commercial is priceless. It would be cool to see a baby Adam clone. Totally get the stroller comment, jlurksacto.

Watched the Watertown story unfold at Ron’s place yesterday. Luval was on the phone for about an hour as we watched CNN breaking news. Small and much sadder world these days. Watching the take-down live really hits you emotionally. At one point Ron asked what the 19-year-old must be thinking as the police moved in to capture him in real time. The worst moment for me was when everyone clapped because it was as if we all had forgotten Martin Richard and his family. The picture of that little boy’s gap-toothed smile makes me want to cry at the loss of such a sweet person.

In the end it was for the best because the people who planned this to cause maximum hurt were presented with the sight of a country on it’s feet and applauding their authorities.

  17. TLKC says:

On a happier note, Ron and I watched Hello Dolly yesterday (on BLU-RAY, no less) and have now launched RIFF – Ron’s Interesting Film Festival. Once-a-month viewing and tutorial on a film of his choice – mainly musicals.

Lest you think this is all fun…Ron has a tall mirror strategically placed beside the TV set where he can watch you watch the film and he called me out for nodding off a couple of times. At the end of the film I told him I loved it and he said “What you saw of it!” Laugh (Not making this up!!)

Apparently there is no possibility of DIFF – Ron said no to watching my type of films LOL. (Too bad: it would be nice to pair Fellini’s 8-1/2 with NINE, a very very good musical film.) We will see. Grin

  18. TLKC says:

Also, get this: while I’m talking to luval, Ron casually asked for my ALL password and I suddenly noticed that he was trying to launch a real photo of me into my avatar!!!!!!! Gotta watch the guy..

  19. TLKC says:

RE: Adam and pretty boys. It’s going to happen. When it comes to this JJ fellow, he at least seems nice and has a good job. We seem to be stuck between worrying about Adam personally and worrying about how his meet-ups look. Some of us feel both. The only worry imho is the tendency to “over-drink”. If Adam is on-his-feet and thinking, he is smart enough and good enough to make decent choices. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

  20. adamized says:

TLKC love your story about your RIFF experience. Maybe Kradamour and I should skip the Toronto Film Festival and just park ourselves in Ron’s living room.

This has been a week of extremes hasn’t it? This morning with the earthquake in China (hopefully far away from our boy), the events in Boston and Texas, and then the wonderful distractions we get from Adam. I feel shallow worrying about his shoe choices when so much more important things are taking place but it is “a beautiful release”.

jlurks, I was so moved by the song and the singers. Wonderful message.

  21. LadyNorth says:

aely, I love the photo you posted, it’s so beautiful, those eyes! Thank you Smile

Also loved the rehearsal vids from the award show.

Adam has said he likes pretty boys. Younger ones. Does that mean younger than himself or are they always going to be young youngThinking? Sauli is 3 years younger, I think that’s very normal age difference with a couple if you are not a teen any more.

  22. Kradamour says:

Really hoping that Adam’s idea of “younger” advances in age with him. At some point – our boy is 31 now – there would be something of an ick factor.

Agree and posted upthread that what I really worry about is the image he presents and the alcohol element. No tweeting after one drink in the club, please…

  23. apal123 says:

Thanks everyone for all the good wishes and encouraging stories. As you all predicted, the surgery went fine and my daughter is home. The medical world has advanced so much.Back in the dark ages when I was young I remember kids staying in the hospital a couple days and boasting about getting as much ice cream as they wanted. My daughters surgery was finished by 8:30 and she went to recovery. After she woke up, they watched her for awhile and then explained what care she would have to do. They ordered her prescriptions, released her, and we were home by 1:00 after an hour drive home. Amazing!
I’m still on the fence about how I feel about pretty boys or just younger men in general. But if 38 year old Bradley Cooper can walk the Red Carpet with his 20 year old date then I guess the age gap isn’t that important. Does a different standard apply because he is a gay man? So sad if it does.

  24. rs says:

Adam is an intelligent adult and will live his life as he sees fit, live unapologetically, and take responsibility for the results of his choices, just as he always has. It is one of the things that I respect and love about him. He is human (believe it or not) and I trust him to live, love, make mistakes, and learn from them. That’s life, even in the glare of the limelight.

Ron has a tall mirror strategically placed beside the TV set where he can watch you watch the film and he called me out for nodding off a couple of times.

“Nodding off a couple of times”. Thinking

This is in no way a reflection on the entertainment value of the movie “Hello Dolly!” as said nodding off occured during the opening credits!!

Warning: Don’t serve TLKC wine. Unlike me, she does not have a hollow leg when it comes to imbibing strong drink.

Two sips and it’s Snooze City. ROTFL

It was either that or I’m not the most stimulating person to spend time with.

After I revived her … Big Smile … she appeared to enjoy the rest of the movie very much … from what I could see in my strategically placed mirror.

    Laugh

See you next month, TLKC. Kiss

P.S. Your next post better have an avatar next to it! Wink

Can anybody read what he actually said? It’s crossed out pretty well. Dang it!

I’ve been off the radar for a couple of days. Just caught up with everything Adam, and with my own interwebz needs.

I got a message from Oksana’s niece asking me for a suggestion for a song to play at her memorial service.

Can you guys help? I was thinking of Stay.

  28. riskylady says:

Dear fellow ALLers, let me preface this post with a disclaimer. I truly enjoy this blog and believe all comments are welcome and worthy. Just sayin’ – but I cannot resist a bit of snark about the recent wave of analysis of everything Adam. As a very wise friend of mine pointed out to me earlier, “hook your wagon to a Rock Star, don’t expect the ride of a librarian!”
I am very sorry to see that Adam has abandoned the monastic lifestyle that some would prescribe for him. What is he thinking? A handsome, 31-year-old entertainer out and about after dark? In clubs, no less! Any straight equal would of course look for the older, less-attractive partners, certainly not the “pretty” “a little younger” ones.
He should be back in his hotel, alone, crying into his minibar bottle of bottled water, watching old Shirley Temple movies or reading Gone With the Wind.
And tattoos to boot? Never mind that Ewan McGregor is riddled with them, as are quite a few other movie stars, and Adam’s namesake Levine is one walking pile of them. The tiny OOFTA on his hand was obviously meaningful to him and Sauli in ways that we are not privy to. (WHAT??? PRIVATE, you say??)
It was pretty obvious to me that the shoes on the red carpet in Macau were the boots he would wear while performing. Of course, that’s exactly what EVERYONE was looking at (just like the infamous, messy décor-destroying bottles of water and cup of tea during the performance in Finland.)
Again, just sayin’ – cannot resist. Throw whatever you want. I’m short, and very good at ducking. I’m just happy to see Adam out and about, letting tons of people take his picture and post it on the internet so we get to see him doing his thing. Long live rock and roll!

  29. luval says:

I have sort of the ick factor with Bradley Cooper. He seems like a frat boy who will never grow up during the interviews I’ve seen. And he will get gazillions for making a movie that flops. So his personal life doesn’t affect his income IMO.

Musicians have to work their butts off and don’t get much monetary return at times. I hate seeing them on TMZ sloshed, climbing out of limo’s with the teenager on their arms. Not that Adam has any similarity to this bunch but personal life does affect professional life at times. It’s all in the perception. Which is true in most everything in life. IMO

  30. luval says:

mils…I don’t remember which song Oksana really really loved except…Thrift Shop by MAcklemore & Lewis. Remember her saying she couldn’t stop playing it. But it really wouldn’t be appropriate for a memorial service.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QK8mJJJvaes

I’ll try a little research (around the time TP came out) and see if I can find a post from her about the music.

  31. milwlovesadam says:

riskylady, I couldn’t agree more with you. And I reference my post about the breakup on the March thread. Going out is what he does, it’s what he always has done, before, during and after Sauli. There will be pics of him out and about, there will be speculation about boys, so What? It’s all PR, it’s all win-win in my book. As long as it’s not drunken bad news, it’s all OK. He is fine. He will be fine.

Wardrobe dissection is all in “fun.” In real life, everything he wears has so much texture and panache, it’s incredible. He has excellent taste and wears it all so well. We have our personal likes and dislikes, but, it’s his wardrobe. He can wear whatever the frack he wants. And he does. Razz

I still don’t like the harem pants. But, my opinion doesn’t matter. His does. They must be very comfortable to fly in.

  32. rs says:

  33. riskylady says:

Adam is hanging out with teenagers? In clubs? Weren’t Sauli (28 now), Cheeks and his other partner around his age? I think a teen would bore him to death, if nothing else.

  34. riskylady says:

Thanks, mils and rs! LOL. About music for Oksana, I love Stay but it’s not really Adam’s song. What about Broken Open? Or, his studio version of One or Tracks of My Tears?

  35. ultimathule says:

Agree, riskylady – Adam and Sauli apparently had a nice two-year run and now they’re on to new adventures. Never got the impression that they’d each found “The One.” Besides the boy has a lot of time to make up since he started so late.

But his boots and tattoos are still fair game – lol – gotta have something to talk about till the new music comes out.

  36. nkd says:

riskylady, may I ask, when have we not analyzed everything Adam? Laugh
But we’re still here, loving him and accepting him.

  37. milwlovesadam says:

I do wonder about his next tat. I don’t care how many he gets on his arm. It’s already on it’s way to a full sleeve. He’s usually quite covered up anyway. The OOFTA? I don’t give a darn.

It’s just a tiny little thing, nearly always hard to see because of the location. It was a “love tat.” It has private meanings for him from a special time in his life. Private, meaning we’ll never know. And we shouldn’t.

I don’t think his tats will hold him back from anything in his life, ever. He’s not a corporate executive or a healthcare provider. He’s an entertainer. Even if he were to become a producer or director at some point, the tats would never hurt his image or cause somebody to not give him a job. Not in that world.

I don’t know very many people in his age range who don’t have any tats. It’s a changing society. At work, virtually every single one of my co-workers has tats. Except the stick in the mud director of nursing and me!! And they have to cover their tats at work, which looks ridiculous. Everybody walks around with medical tape on various parts of their bodies.

As for me, I am seriously considering a birthday present tat for myself, in an inconspicuous place so that I won’t have to work and look wounded every day!!!

  38. milwlovesadam says:
  39. luval says:

I don’t understand. We always dissect Adam’s “everything”. Let’s not dissect and what are we gonna talk about? And I think mentioned something pages ago about removing the OOFTA. IT WAS A JOKE!!!!!! I had a smiley face at the end of the sentence. Sheesh.
So I will continue to analyze & interpret anything and everything Adam here if I want to! No problem if you disagree and give your opinion with me or not with me. Just let me do it!!

  40. milwlovesadam says:

Luval: only if can join you!! Muwhahahha

As Adam has said, let’s not eat our own.

Besides, I’m trying to lose weight. Razz

  41. milwlovesadam says:

And just to clarify: I have no intention to filter what I post here or anywhere else any more than I already do. This is an Adam site, we have always dissected every fleck of glitter and every freckle, and I hope to always do just that. it ain’t that serious folks. It’s a very sweet diversion from real life.n IMHO.

    Now.

    On to more important matters.

    Like his shoes, tats, friends….

  42. Kradamour says:

risky, what I love about us on this blog is that we are pretty tough old birds with strong opinions, based in life experience. I love hearing them.
It is like discussing our child. I say similar things to my friends about my biological sons.
TBH, most of my interest in Adam is the person; not crazy about most of his music, although I would follow that voice anywhere. But he is such an interesting and articulate individual; I have enjoyed immensely watching him these past few years, and hearing others’ opinions and thoughts on his development as an artist and also his maturing as a boy becomng a man.
Anyone who isn’t interested in those issues can just skip those posts, the way I skip every post with a mention of Elvis.
    Grin

Re music for Oksana…I would suggest something upbeat and cheery; her passing was in many ways a release, and it always struck me that she had a striking optimism/love for life.
I vote for Pop That Lock.
you got the key to your release so pop that lock until you’re lighter than air
    Heart

  43. Miss Chaos says:

Mils if it was me I would like the most upbeat song played so I could leave with a smile on my face. Although CAN’T LET YOU GO would be appropriate

  44. riskylady says:

Have I prevented anyone from doing or saying or writing anything? Didn’t I write a disclaimer? Snark is snark…
Maybe using the euphemism “analysis” or “dissect” was too indirect. Here’s the thing: Reading over the last 4 or 5 pages, objectively, it just seemed like there was an awful lot of disapproval, negative criticism. It seems to happen after every major good thing, the downspiral. I find it distressing and so wrote some snarky comments disagreeing. Now, why is that so terrible? Maybe it’s better to just “step away”……..

  45. mmm222 says:

Adam’s a very social, single, 31 year old man. It’s good to see him out and about and having a good time. As long as there aren’t any more drunken arrests or other spectacles, it’s all fine. Like any other single celebrity, there will be plenty of speculation about his love life. But he has always been very discreet about his sex life, so I’m not expecting any major scandals. As I’ve said before, I think Adam will be just fine.

I’m not a fan of tattoos myself, but it’s a new world, and a large percentage of the younger generation has them. In Adam’s social context, they are totally appropriate. As long as he can cover them up with a long sleeved shirt when he has to, it’s all fine. He won’t be walking around shirtless in a remake of an old Elvis movie anyway.

One of the best things about being an Adam fan is that he’s never boring. His wardrobe alone is enough to keep us amused indefinitely. I like hearing everyone’s perspective on his latest outfits, not to mention nkd‘s input on what’s being recycled. But in spite of an occasional dubious choice, he almost always looks fabulous.

ETA: These are my thoughts on the comments of the last couple of days. Everyone’s opinion is valued here (as long as they love Adam and want the best for him!)

  46. Kradamour says:

    No worries, riskylady.
Thoroughly enjoyed the snark of your post, actually.
    Grin
I get where you are coming from.
    (shrugs)
I just see a difference between negative and (admittedly subjective lol) objective!
    Wink
And I think that all (well, most) of our posts stay firmly in the realm of “we want the best for our boy”.
I also think that what we post here is not necessarily what we would post out in the larger world. We know that we are among friends who will understand us and put it into context.

That is exactly what concerns me. This is a public blog and we are not ONLY among friends. We have no idea who is lurking and what impression what is said here is making or what will get used in other contexts.

And on that note, I am gone.

  48. AL says:

I looked back through Oksana‘s posts to see what her favorite songs were (Adam related).
The last music that she received and was listening to was the CD of the London Hammersmith show.

jlurksacto thanks for your gift! You made someone very, very happy..

“The Show Must Go On” would be a good one from that.

    She also mentioned…

    I play stay/underneath a lot.

    and loved…

    Shady!!!

And I found this post that brought a tear to my eye

I’m still lurking but have no strength to post.
    Adam keeps me alive.

  49. milwlovesadam says:

Oh AL, thanks for doing the research for our Oksana. I remember that last post, and just feeling so sad for her.

I do think Stay is a good choice, after all. I understand the sentiment of a more upbeat song, but, Stay, to me is also appropriate.

  50. milwlovesadam says:

Yes, krads, and rs, and riskylady. We do need to be aware of those we don’t know and lurkers. However, this still is the sanest site for fans I have ever seen.

I would lose a part of myself if I didn’t have this as an outlet for some of my humor and snark, and, naughty-ness.

Let’s all be free to be ourselves and not fall into the post-show and down-time slump pattern again. After all, we’re 29. We’ve survived worse in life. And come out smelling like a Rose
