August was break time as Adam returned home to LA from his vacay on Roger’s boat. It was also time to reconnect with family, friends and Pharaoh. Now that September is here, it’s back to school work as Starstruck starts shooting Season 2 with new judge Shania Twain joining Adam, Beverley, Jason and Olly.

My son and daughter in law are also in Florida…but they seems to have escaped the worst of the storm where they are. He should be used to the weather after growing up in HK during typhoon seasons…Its scary watching the news from so far away though. The damage seems immense over there, I just don’t understand why they build houses of wood in hurricane/tornado areas?

HK fan building codes in Florida are so messed up. A lot of wooden houses are older, but in South Florida codes now are strict, with concrete, etc. because we used to get most storms. But in the central and north they still allow wood even though many storms have been going that way lately. And insurance costs astronomical – our concrete house insurance $5,600/yr. Plus, many companies have left the state after making a killing due to lax oversight.
