‘The Star Spangled Banner’ Broadway Bares midnight show 6/23/13 – Video by Sam Bernero

Following a busy June with appearances at Pittsburgh Pride, all sorts of New York events and at Universal Orlando, Adam is back in California for a few open air concerts. The first one is in his childhood home of San Diego on July 2nd and then it’s on to Paso Robles on July 19th. Let’s hope that between concerts (and after) that Adam gets into the studio to work on new music.

For this month’s banner, I listened to luval‘s advice and posted a video – an impressive “Star Spangled Banner” that Adam sung before a very appreciate Broadway crowd. It’s perfect for the July 4th holiday but it’s just as amazing to listen to any time of year!
If you have any photos faves, please post them and I’ll add them below the video.
Enjoy the chat!

Unless there is a surprise under that skirt judging panel it’s not happening I’m not watching.
(Adam’s words from that Jonathan Ross interview when he was asked if a certain lady in the audience could turn him.)
At this point I feel like not getting the Idol judging spot is not that big a loss. I don’t even understand who the producers are trying to woo with this super-boring panel. Like they ran out of ideas.

  2. luval says:

LOl, turrquoisewaters. I play that interview every now and then. Love it! He looked sooooo handsome. Elvis, like Jonathan Ross said!

  3. luval says:

OK…most likely Adam is not getting Idol. Have made peace with that. Onward & upward!

  4. ultimathule says:

Here’s a rundown of the roles. The first 3 are recurring. The last two are smaller roles.

Roderick Easton – A talented theatrical fortysomething with a big ego.
Jim Elliott – A handsome, smart academic in his mid-40s or 50s.
Jurgen – Also in his mid 40s or 50s who is either German or Austrian, possessing a definite accent.
A not gender-specific school board member
“Nerdy Girl” age 18ish, probably a McKinley student, with only a single line of dialogue.

The new characters are for older actors, probably headed to the New York World. Details are sketchy now, but I’m sure more will be revealed in the coming weeks.

    Thanks, ultimathule. Thinking

  6. rs says:

I just came to post those new Glee roles and ultimathule beat me to it. If Adam gets one of the 40ish roles, maybe that is why Melvin is still here. It definitely makes him look older.

  7. ultimathule says:

I don’t want him to look older – IMO it would be a mistake for him to take a role like that. He’s the same age as Cory was – people his age or so are apparently playing young roles (from what I’ve gathered about the show – which isn’t much).

  8. Ron says:

Those Glee roles have most likely already been cast but the description of those characters aren’t carved in stone.

It’s the way the writing team originally conceived those roles but they can and many times in the past have been modified and reimagined … if someone special comes along to make them want to rethink things. Wink

Jurgen is out. Adam can’t do German or Austrian with a definite accent.

Adam as Roderick with a big ego? If he could be effective with that and pull it off, I can just see the comments saying that he can’t act because he’s basically playing himself.

    Rolls Eyes

So, I’ll go with Jim Elliot. The name suits Adam along with handsome, smart, and academic.

The writers/producers just have to lower the age a bit.

    Done.

    Big Smile

  9. luval says:

I was thinking Jim Elliot too! Or maybe they’ll come up with something unexpected for Adam. Like mils, I would like a NYC connection.

You and I? Thinking alike? About the same thing?

    I’m shocked.

Man, life sure was easier before I started caring so much about Adam and his career. I know he will be fine and is on his way to great things but jeez this crap he has to go through is intense, ridiculous and annoying. I really had no idea how much hate and BS he has had to put up with. I am SO ready to move on!

  13. ultimathule says:

    I’ll second that, aely.

  14. asifclueless says:

Oh .. aely … ” Adam will be fine.”

    But what about meeeeeeeeeeee?

    I’m a wreck. Frown
I love him so much and I want him to have it all.

  15. riskylady says:

Don’t remember if this was ever posted here. Another talented person who loves Adam and puts it out there. This was her reply to Adam tweeting the iTunes link to American Girl. With a songwriter like Bonnie in his corner (Cuckoo, Chokehold) he’s in good shape.

@BonnieMcKee: @adamlambert Thanks so much, boo! You’re my boo, boo. You’re bootiful. Heard you’re playing w queen in Vegas! I wanna see that! Xox

  16. ultimathule says:

Is that because you think HE wants it, asif? That’s the only reason I would care – barely watched last year (if did, were the vids at MJs) couldn’t care less if it were cancelled.

So my concern is only how he feels – and I have no knowledge of that – does anyone?

  17. riskylady says:

Maybe the Idol people are just throwing red herrings out there so they can surprise with “shock and awe” down the road?

  18. asifclueless says:

Hehe … ulti. I was joking.

Whatever makes Adam happy … This mama is happy. Smile

Kris’s new website – very nice – pic of Oliver’s toes.

  20. TLKC says:

Oh well, Idol was a long shot anyway. He must have known for a while so he’s in much better shape than we are. Have to agree with aely’s point from about a week ago: he should stop plugging Idol.

RE: Glee – I sincerely hope Adam is playing his age or there-abouts. The coach of Vocal Adrenaline sounds good to me. If the Jim Elliott role is made younger that could work, but Adam has never struck me as scholarly-looking. We’ll see.

On a lighter note, this tweet made me laugh:

In other news a fan very kindly sent us a biscuit with a picture of one of our artists face on today.

I wonder who that fan was a fan of?

Now a funny story….my niece (2) and nephew (3) were over again..swimming we had to listen to Kickin In (he LOVES the bounce bounce bounce part) over and over then my niece latched on to Runnin so it was those two songs on repeat. After awhile I actually said okay how about some different music. My nephew said, No more Adam? I said let’s just listen to some different songs. He says, I am sad. I changed the music…..still funny.
Then we got stuck on American Girl and Blurred Lines. After awhile it was enough and back to Pandora and the Queen station. My pool, my music.

Put this up a coupla days ago about co-writes. Two other songs – is this anything important?

  23. Kradamour says:

Adam has never struck me as scholarly-looking.

TLKC, there was that hilarious episode from 2009 where Adam was in a skit pretending to teach something, suit, big glasses, he was a hoot! And totally deadpan. He could totally do scholarly.

Just love the stories about new fans and how they become mesmerized by our guy. And after seeing Aely’s about her niece and nephew, I needed to add my granddaughter’s story to the legacy.
Last year, she and I were enjoying some time together, making pot holders for Christmas presents, and I asked whether she wanted to put on some music. I knew she liked Lady Gaga, and after we heard her favorites from that, I, of course, put on Trespassing – you know, just to test the waters. Well, it was love at first listen. Sometimes she helped with our project, but sometimes she just got up and danced. Pretty soon, the pot holders and I were pretty much left to our own devices, and at the end of the CD, my granddaughter wanted to hear it again. It took another listen through for her to pick out her favorites and take over the remote, but at the end of the day, my husband returned to a house in full Trespassing mode. I counted the equivalent of about 7 full CD listens by the time she had to go.
Now that was last year when she was 8, but to this day, although her favorites change – started with Cuckoo, Trespassing and morphed to Pop that Lock, plus all of the above, along with Naked Love. The latest is, interestingly enough, Chokehold.
She always asks to hear it (and nothing else, though we have a house full of music) when she comes over. She doesn’t want a copy to take home; it’s special to share with us grandfolks somehow. We keep a CD in the car, and the first thing she asks for when she gets in is to put on some “Lamby” – her nickname for Adam. Eek!
I was so disappointed we couldn’t take her with us to Paso Robles; Girl Scout camp sort of got in the way, and I kept myself from arguing priorities with her parents, lol.

    Next time, though… Big Smile
